URL Encoder

Percent-encode text for safe use in URLs.

URL Encoder applies percent-encoding so spaces and reserved characters can travel safely in query strings.

When to use URL Encoder

  • Building query parameters
  • Encoding search terms
  • Preparing values for href query parts

Example

Input

hello world & frontend=true

Output

hello%20world%20%26%20frontend%3Dtrue

How to use

  1. Paste raw value. Include spaces or symbols that need encoding.
  2. Encode. Run to percent-encode the text.
  3. Place in URL. Use the encoded value in a query string.

Processing and limitations

Uses encodeURIComponent for one URL component, such as a query value. It encodes /, ?, & and =, so do not encode an entire URL when you want to preserve its structure. Spaces become %20, not +.

Benefits

  • Free to use—no account required
  • Runs in your browser
  • Instant results with no software install
  • Basic processing does not upload your content to a server
  • Encode parameter values carefully—encoding an entire URL twice can break it.

Not the same as

HTML entity encoding is separate (HTML Encoder). Base64 is separate too.
